  • Going to a Holiday Party? Open this first.

It's the time of year again for the annual company holiday party, and you're lost on ideas for what to wear. May we suggest some of our favorite hats for the holidays?

    Johnny Blue Eyes[2]

One of my favorites this season is the Johnny Blue Eyes stingy brim fedora. This style is a part of our Heritage Collection, which means it's American Made and 100% wool felt, which makes it a perfect for the brisk weather...not to mention the secret earflaps tucked inside for my commute to and from work. A basic fedora is an easy way to class up an outfit without being too dressy, and the charcoal color is a great neutral tone for matching just about anything in my closet. Personally, I remember when this style came out a few years ago, and I always regretted not picking it up. When we rereleased it this year, I was the first in line to buy it, ready to gear up for the cold weather.

    - Alex (Shopkeeper, Harvard Square, Boston)

My go-to for holiday festivities is the Vino Dimata. I love that the sleek fit that doesn't add any bulk to my shape. It dresses up my blue jeans just enough to make the night special but not flashy.
    – Adam (Shopkeeper, Haight. St, San Francisco)

    Holiday Party Hat 001[2]

I chose The Doctor in the color gray because I love the classic style wide brim fedora. At a holiday party, this kind of hat would make quite the statement. Classy and bold! Goes well casually or formally! Feathers to brighten up the hat and match the outfit of choice are a must!!
    Killer hat!
    – Nicky (Shopkeeper, Park Slope, Brooklyn)

Holiday parties in Austin are bound to wind up around a bonfire with spiked cocoas or ciders and guitars a strummin’. While my friends and I come together to celebrate, I will stay cozy in my Rasta Vibrations super-soft and slouchy beanie. Heck, one might even find its way into the white elephant gift exchange!
    - Kitty (Shopkeeper, SoCo, Austin)

  • Hello Philadelphia!

It's always exciting to open new shops, but we're especially excited to finally be returning to Pennsylvania, the place where it all started! Our grand opening will be this Thursday, October 23rd from 6-8 pm in our new Rittenhouse Square shop at 1427 Walnut Street.

Meet our new Philadelphia Shopkeeper, Jason. He's thrilled to be taking on the role and joining the Goorin Bros. family. We had a chance to get inside his head and hear his thoughts on the new shop.

Tell me about your journey to Goorin Bros. What paths did you take to get you here today, opening the Philadelphia Goorin Bros. shop?

I had been running a vintage store on South St. for 10+ years and I was looking for an opportunity to work for a unique company with growth potential. After seeing the advertisement, I was extremely attracted to the core values of Owning Your Own Business and Building From The Ground Up. I knew this was exactly the place for me and I was excited to work for a family owned company with a large majority of their product made in the USA. Goorin Bros. is the best place for me and the circumstances in which we found each other were very serendipitous. I am excited about the success of the Goorin Bros. Rittenhouse Square store and what the future holds.

Why do you think Philadelphia was a good fit for Goorin Bros.?

I believe it's a perfect fit simply because Goorin Bros. roots are based here in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia is a city with it's own rich history and a passionate flair for individual style and expression. Philly loves a true original and that is exactly what Goorin brings along with a strong commitment to quality product and providing an unforgettable customer experience. The people of Philly are all about being Bold and will definitely give you a piece of their mind. They are passionate people who love shared experiences of joy, triumph and sometimes pain. Honesty and integrity are what I love about this city and it's also something I feel Goorin Bros embraces in everything they do. Welcome back to PA!

Going into the right neighborhood is incredibly important for Goorin Bros. What about this neighborhood do you think makes Goorin Bros. a great fit?

I think that Rittenhouse Square is a great neighborhood for Goorin Bros. because it's the center and pulse of the city. It's a gathering point for people from all walks of life and it continues to grow and flourish. The area is not just the financial and shopping district, but also an area with incredible food, public art, museums, parks, theaters and music venues. It's an eclectic mix in Center City and Goorin Bros is the perfect addition to this growing and vibrant city. We will be in good hands with William Penn watching over us from his perch on City Hall.

Each Goorin Bros. shop has their own vibe, which makes each shop a totally new experience. Do you have any plans or ideas for how to make your shop uniquely yours?

I am excited to be a hub within the community for local events and connecting the city one hat at a time. We are very excited to be having our Grand Opening Party on October 23rd, which will feature live entertainment and spirits from Philadelphia Distilling. We will continue to support local businesses, musicians, artists, craft breweries/distilleries and restaurants to provide a human connection through education, happiness, laughter and HATS! The love in this company is infectious and I'm glad I get to share it with my home city.

If you could give advice to the next new shopkeeper, what would it be?

Be your best self and have fun because you were chosen for this job for your unique personality and enthusiasm. Don't be afraid to ask questions and you will truly understand the meaning of FAMILY. I have had the pleasure of meeting the most wonderful people in my short time working here and I feel completely at home with Goorin Bros. Stay true to who you are and constantly seek to improve and inspire others around you.

RSVP to our grand opening here.

  • Private Event Bookings

As a fourth-generation, family-owned company of bold hatmakers, our team at Goorin Bros. has been creating and selling custom hats of the highest quality since 1895, when artist and craftsman Cassel Goorin sold his first custom hat from a horse-drawn cart in the streets of Pittsburgh. We take pride in sharing our story and our unique history with our customers. That’s why we’ve opened up our shops for private events and bookings.
With over 30 shops in North America, we currently offer private event bookings in select San Francisco/Bay Area and New York shops. We work with our customers to create a customized experience and a one-of-a-kind private event. Each event will be equipped with a bunch of hats (of course) and hat fitters, who will help each guest pick the best hat for them. Our shops are available for either a full shop buyout or a hat-buying minimum. We also offer Goorin Pop-up events, where we bring the hat experience directly to you.

    North Beach (capacity: 50)

    Haight, Elmwood, Union Square

    West Village, Park Slope, Williamsburg

Preferred Vendors: Our shop will be offered as a venue. We have a list of preferred and licensed vendors (alcohol and catering) that we work with on a regular basis.

Goorin Pop-Ups: Let us come to you!
Goorin Bros. can pop-up at your office for $1500 for 2 hours. We’ll bring the hats and our expert hat fitters so that each guest gets the one-on-one Goorin hat experience, walking away feeling confident in their new hat.
