measure YOUR HEAD

Step 1

STEP 1

Locate a soft, flexible seamstress tape measure. Determine the widest portion of your head, typically starting just above the eyebrows and in the rear, you may feel a slight knot on the back of your skull.

No soft tape measure? Simply cut a 30” piece of string and grab a yard stick.

Using a mirror, place the tape so that centimeters are visible starting at the front and wrap it comfortably around your head covering the widest portion until it overlaps above the eyebrows and ears.

If using a string method, follow the steps above. Mark on the string where it overlaps so that you can lay it down against the yard stick to determine the length in inches.

You should be left with a measurement between 52 & 63 centimeters. Use our provided conversion chart below to determine your appropriate hat size. Enjoy.

Anything you'll feel confident wearing.

Those who have never worn a hat before tend to start with something
short to medium, around 2.5 inches or shorter. Our Dean the Butcher is a popular choice for this reason. Once you get comfortable with that, it'll be easy for you to decide to go up or down in brim size.

Otherwise, the best trick is to wear a hat that sits within your frame. If you have narrow shoulders, try a short-to-medium brim; if you have wide shoulders, a wide brim may suit you best to fill out your frame.

It's always best to wear hats around for a couple days to get accustomed to them. After you've overcome the initial distraction of seeing something larger than usual on your head, you'll be able to assess your preferences.

While hats can be forgiving, they can still require a bit of TLC if you wear them often.

If you don't wear it for long periods, make sure it is stored properly, brush it between wears, and give it a quick steam every season.

Classic

Happy to see Goorin Bros going back to simple classic hats. This hat can be worn on many different occasions, wear it just hanging out or to a nice restaurant for dinner. It makes a statement without making a scene. Quality is impeccable ( be sure to purchase water proof stain proofing spray). Color is right on to compliment any outfit. I’m a customer of their hats since the early 1990”s when they only sold to stores and I have several hats I wished they would reissue. This classic never goes out of style. Watch the French Connection or the Honeymooners and you will know what I mean.

Perky & Clever Hat

I love the style of this hat! I am small framed, and many hats overwhelm me. This hat looks great on and is very comfortable to wear. I love it! As I have only one other Goorin Bros. hat, I based my sizing on that.
