My fiancé and I just bought out first home here in Nashville, TN and we wanted to explore the new local spots nearest our home. We’re about twenty mins NE of downtown Nashville, and it was a gorgeous 75-degree hump day and we thought why not?
I busted out the floral printed maxi dress and needed a toquilla straw hat to protect my skin from the midday sun. This Welfleet was my first straw hat ever and the mauve-brown color is just getting better with age, as many of you may know, toquilla straw tends to fade in color over time!
Since it was a completely gorgeous day back in March we knew we had to venture over to Old Hickory Lake and soak in some lakefront views. I grew up in the North by The Great Lakes so water always holds a special place for me. The marina was still getting its legs back from the winter, but you could feel the itch for consistent spring and summer activities.
What better way to enjoy the view than to sit down for a beer and lunch at Sam’s Sports Grill. Your classic American menu with a handful of locations throughout Nashville area. I swooped in for the fish tacos and *chefs kiss* they were lovely. Who doesn't enjoy a classic sports bar at a boat marina!?
A ten minute walk away is Lawrence and Clark Cactus Co. for all your houseplant needs. One of my favorite shops in Nashville – the staff is always incredibly helpful and they offer to pot all your plants for you! (I’m a lover of plants but sometimes they don’t love me.) We picked out the perfect guy for the corner of our bedroom and we were on our way! An amazing introduction to Spring weather in the neighborhood, and it felt great to bring out the straw wide brim hats to accompany my daily adventure.
