measure YOUR HEAD

Step 1

STEP 1

Locate a soft, flexible seamstress tape measure. Determine the widest portion of your head, typically starting just above the eyebrows and in the rear, you may feel a slight knot on the back of your skull.

No soft tape measure? Simply cut a 30” piece of string and grab a yard stick.

Using a mirror, place the tape so that centimeters are visible starting at the front and wrap it comfortably around your head covering the widest portion until it overlaps above the eyebrows and ears.

If using a string method, follow the steps above. Mark on the string where it overlaps so that you can lay it down against the yard stick to determine the length in inches.

You should be left with a measurement between 52 & 63 centimeters. Use our provided conversion chart below to determine your appropriate hat size. Enjoy.

Anything you'll feel confident wearing.

Those who have never worn a hat before tend to start with something
short to medium, around 2.5 inches or shorter. Our Dean the Butcher is a popular choice for this reason. Once you get comfortable with that, it'll be easy for you to decide to go up or down in brim size.

Otherwise, the best trick is to wear a hat that sits within your frame. If you have narrow shoulders, try a short-to-medium brim; if you have wide shoulders, a wide brim may suit you best to fill out your frame.

It's always best to wear hats around for a couple days to get accustomed to them. After you've overcome the initial distraction of seeing something larger than usual on your head, you'll be able to assess your preferences.

If you don't wear it for long periods, make sure it is stored properly, brush it between wears, and give it a quick steam every season.

This hat is a work of art! I’m in love with the look! Compliments everywhere I go! I had to get the Goorin travel case to take it with me everywhere I go! If you’re looking for a hat that stands out, look no more! It’s worth every penny! The quality of this hat is unmatched! You will kick yourself if you don’t buy it and it sells out! The fit is perfect! The entire hat is stiff, but surprisingly comfortable. I’m waiting for more colors in my size to drop!

What More Can I Say…

Without a doubt this hat is king… The rich Denim color, the “Gold Brim Trim” , the flat brim, the tear drop…. Man I could go on and on. One of the best features of the hat is the liner inside the hat that grips and stretches to fit your head. Again a hat that you can style in anyway that you’d prefer. Definitely a compliment receiving, topic of discussion, making a statement kind of hat. It’s for sure confidence booster. Definitely my fav of the Goorin Bros. line up.

Buy the Billy.. you will command the room!

This was the1st Billy I brought (Blue w/ tan rim). Since then I have brought 3 more. Gray, Black, and Cognac. The Billy is a great hat. I have 4. Every time I wear one I receive compliments. The stiff brim is uncompromising and is a statement. The Billy is one of the best hats Goorin Bros makes. If you wear one, please be prepared to be noticed! I love my Billy’s

What a hat!

This is a big boy, with clean lines and lots of attitude. I am big as well, although my lines are not so clean… But my attitude fits the hat! This large, flat brim says “here I come.” A fabulous hat.
